The oven opened with a hiss of steam and wafting caramel and spices - the dessert was finally ready. As a team of cooks pulled the trays onto the bench, the head chef quickly poured the butterscotch sauce over the spiced pudding, and plated them onto the fine china. A dollop of cream, a garnish of berries, a quick taste of the sauce - and it's perfect, ready to serve.
